The Numbers at the Heart of the Dispute

Under the new system, caddies earn between $17.54 and $24.98 per hour, replacing the previous flat-fee arrangement. On the same day, guest fees also rose — from $160 to $175 for a single bag and from $220 to $250 for a double bag. Caddies contend that guests are paying more while the loopers themselves are taking home less.

Veteran caddie Justin Kipina says he previously pocketed $188 from a double-bag round; under the hourly model, even a five-and-a-half-hour round at the top rate falls short of that. Fellow looper Mike Lehotta reports his single-bag earnings dropped from $132 to roughly $99–$129 before tips.

Caddiemaster's Counter-Argument

CEO Dan Costello disputes this narrative, citing company records showing overall gross pay up more than 12% in the first full pay cycle, with over 90% of caddies earning more than before.
