Scheffler's Rough Day

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler signed for a 73, six back of the leaders. A poor wedge cost him a bogey on 14, and what he described as a flushed 7-iron on 16 was taken down by the wind and found the water — a double bogey that visibly exasperated him. His lone highlight: a chip-in birdie on 17 from the fringe after a thin bunker shot took a lucky bounce.

"I absolutely flushed a 7-iron and we get the wind wrong and I'm in the water," Scheffler said. A 73 that could have been much worse.
