Russell Henley's victory at the Charles Schwab Challenge drew attention not just for the result, but for his equipment choices. While he stuck with a six-year-old Titleist TSi3 driver and 3-wood, Henley made one key addition: the brand-new Titleist GTS3 7-wood.

What Makes the GTS3 7-Wood Notable?

This club marks a first for Titleist—the GTS3 is the company's inaugural "3" series model offered in 7-wood loft. Previously, the 7-wood option was exclusive to the larger "2" and "1" head designs. The release directly responds to rising demand for high-lofted fairway woods across the PGA Tour.

From Hybrid to 7-Wood

Henley had previously carried a 21-degree hybrid in that position. Fitted two weeks earlier at the PGA Championship alongside Titleist's senior director of club promotion, Henley dialed in the GTS3 7-wood using the C4 SureFit hosel setting—adding one degree of loft and flattening the lie by one degree. He also opted for a half-inch shorter Project X Denali Black 80 TX shaft, ultimately achieving a target carry of 235 yards with improved peak height.
